Kings Of Leon hit high on Billboard chartKings of Leon's third album 'Because Of The Times' has earned the band their most successful first week sales in the US so far.
Hitting the Billboard charts at number 25, and with sales in excess of 40,000 copies, the Nashville band are one step closer to super stardom in the US.
Despite their popularity in the UK, including the number one album this week, the band have yet to repeat that success at home.
However, with each tour selling out larger venues than before, frontman Caleb Followill is excited to hit the road in the US, including a date at New York's Roseland Ballroom.
Speaking to NME.COM, Followill revealed the band have always felt welcome in the Big Apple.
"We were scared to death when we were first starting out at the thought of playing New York because we knew we were definitely different from a lot of music there, but they embraced it. The thing with New York is if you're going to do something they want you to do it full on, and all out. I mean when we got there it didn't matter that we sounded country or looked funny, they applauded us for it."

Phil Spector's lead lawyer, Bruce Cutler, abruptly announced today (August 27) that he is leaving the famed music producer's case.
Cutler, who has frequently been missing in action during the trial so he could film a television show, cited "a difference of opinion between Mr. Spector and me on strategy."
Cutler told Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler that he had originally intended to return for the closing arguments, but changed his mind, saying, "There's nothing I can do for Mr. Spector. I can no longer effectively represent him."
When the judge asked Spector if Cutler's statements were accurate, Spector replied, "That is correct."
Defence attorney Roger Rosen will now take over as the lead lawyer in the case, reports the Associated Press.
Spector is accused of murdering actress Lana Clarkson at his Los Angeles mansion on February 3, 2003. The defence contends the actress' death was suicide.
Testimony in the case is expected to end this week. Final arguments are set for September 5.
